Permission to Bloom - hanging doll
Is she a witch or a fairy? I was torn between these 2 options. So, at first, I named her simply Flower Girl. I figured out she might be the one responsible for my flower bed expansions. If she tricked me into doing that against my garden plans I built up in my head during winter she might be a fairy. But as she put on a veil after veil, and as the shamelessly red went over that innocent white, I found something else in her. Something divine. She is the invitation and the permission to bloom and shine.
She is 36cm/ 14" tall. Hanging in a strong, transparent nylon thread, holding a sun catcher. Her face is hand-painted and hand-sculpted, never to be repeated exactly the same. The rest is made of pre-loved and recycled materials.
